Christian Education Commission

The Christian Education Commission at Warner has a wide vision for the Biblical education and fellowship of children and adults alike. We envision greatness and diversity for our educational program and are willing to make an all out effort to achieve just that. This commission is responsible for defining and implementing "The Goals and Objectives of the C.E. Commission" for our yearly programs.

Sunday mornings at 9:45 are filled with classes for Pre-K and K, 1st and 2nd grades, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, middle school, senior high, Adult Bible Discovery, Theology and Ethics, and at 11:00 Kids' Klub, and Children's Fellowship. Springtime brings a Youth Inquirers' Class and a Communion Workshop for 2nd through 5th grades. Senior High Recognition, Teacher Appreciation, and Youth Sunday also happen in the spring during worship. Our children also help with the special offerings as well as take home special Advent materials for their families. Third graders receive their Bibles form our commission each fall.

Our adult programs are supplemented with special topics from our Task Force on Human Sexuality, Active Parenting and special classes concerning Aging as well as our yearly Vacation Bible School, Quiz Nite and the program for our Advent Dinners. Book Talks sponsored by our Library Committee have become a successful part of our program along with a fellowship meal. The Library's yearly Book Fair highlights new purchases for our members of Warner.

Fellowship for senior highs, middle school, 2nd through 5th grades include Sunday and Wednesday evenings biweekly. Our youth sponsor a formal reception in the summer after worship. Other special fellowship times include retreats, rafting and ski trips, lock-ins, and other special group activities such as bowling, golf and a swimming party under our youth and educational ministry program Our young people are also active with the Youth Ministry Partnership, a partnership of youth from area Presbyterian churches. The youth also have the opportunity to participate with other youth in retreats sponsored by the Youth Connection of the National Capital Presbytery.
